DevOps Paradox

DevOps Paradox is a weekly podcast about DevOps practice, co-hosted by Darin Pope and Viktor Farcic since May 2019. Episodes alternate between conversations the two hosts work through on their own and interviews with practitioners, open source maintainers, and engineering leaders. More than 360 episodes have been published, along with a separate archive of livestreams. The show favors what people have actually run in production over vendor positioning.

Darin Pope and Viktor Farcic have co-hosted DevOps Paradox together on every episode since the show began in 2019. Viktor Farcic is a Google Developer Expert and Docker Captain, writes at The DevOps Toolkit, and published a book titled DevOps Paradox. Darin Pope produces the show and is the contact point for guest pitches and sponsorship. Both hosts take part in guest interviews rather than splitting them.

New DevOps Paradox episodes are released every Wednesday at 6:00 AM Eastern. The schedule alternates: one week is a guest interview, the next is Darin Pope and Viktor Farcic working through a topic between themselves. The show has held to a weekly cadence since May 2019 and has published more than 360 episodes. Livestreams are recorded separately and are not part of the weekly episode schedule.

DevOps Paradox covers continuous integration and delivery, Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, developer experience, and the effect of AI on how software gets built and reviewed. AI coding agents, code review at scale, and developer productivity measurement have each had multiple episodes. Topics come from what the hosts and their guests are working on rather than from a fixed curriculum.
